Carey Werley, LCSW, is a clinical social worker in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute. Ms. Werley has a specialized interest in the treatment and evaluation of children, adolescents and young adults with anxiety and trauma related disorders, including selective mutism, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and acute stress disorder. She also has experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, depression, ADHD, and other mood- and behavior-related disorders.
Ms. Werley has received training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), PCIT-SM, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), applied behavioral analysis (ABA) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She also has experience in extensive collaboration with school systems.
