Dr. Carly Orenstein is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist who specializes in treating children and adolescents with selective mutism, social skills deficits, ADHD, anxiety, and various school-related challenges.
With extensive experience in psychological testing, therapeutic private practice, child study team case management, and classroom interventions for social, academic and behavioral issues, Dr. Orenstein is well-equipped to support families and schools in addressing the complex needs of children with selective mutism. Through consultation, individual therapy, and parent training, she employs a range of therapeutic approaches and targeted interventions tailored to each child’s unique needs in both school and home settings. Additionally, her expertise enables her to guide parents through the process of assessment, evaluation, and school meetings ensuring that students' needs are clearly communicated and thoroughly supported.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Orenstein has led social skills and parenting groups in schools and private practice settings. She frequently lectures to both professional and non-professional groups on a range of topics including selective mutism.
