Dr. Nazia Denese is a licensed psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

She earned her Ph.D. from Columbia University and completed clinical externships at esteemed institutions, including the Anxiety Disorders Center (Selective Mutism Service & Trauma Service) at the Child Mind Institute.

Dr. Denese brings extensive experience in treating a wide range of internalizing and externalizing disorders. She is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and has advanced clinical training in several evidence-based approaches, including PCIT for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

One of Dr. Denese’s greatest passions lies in helping children and adolescents with selective mutism find their voice and build the confidence to express themselves across all areas of life: at home, in school, and in social settings. Her treatment approach is tailored to each patient's developmental needs and may include PCIT-SM, CBT, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

To promote success across settings, Dr. Denese works closely with members of the child’s care team, including educators, speech and language pathologists, neuropsychologists, and psychiatrists.

Please note: Dr. Denese works with children and adolescents with selective mutism, ages 2 to 16.
