Megan Carlson

Meg is absolutely honored to be part of the mission to rid the silence. With the consistent support of SMA, therapists, educators and doctors her family is in a marathon to overcome SM. They are working hard incorporating brave work/exposures and social emotional learning into daily life in order to find their voice and strengthen their roar while being comfortable in their own skin in all situations.

Meg has a BA in elementary education, early childhood certificate through the National Board and MS degrees in Reading and Administration. She currently mentors hard working teachers around the Chicagoland area, is learning about children's mental health and supports parents of children with Selective Mutism. 

Having overcome challenges with the help of others these past few years, Meg now wants the world to better understand our hard working, unstoppable SM Warriors. She believes we all need to come together to support these Warriors as they become Champions, make meaningful gains and watch their baselines improve in different situations as the weeks and months fly by. 

Meg is extremely grateful for the support and training SMA has given her. The Association's work is absolutely life changing and she is excited to work with each and every board member to create more awareness and understanding.
