WANT TO HELP US AND OTHERS UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF SELECTIVE MUTISM OVER TIME?
The Mental Health Interventions and Technology (MINT) program at Florida International University is seeking individuals with a current/ previous diagnosis of SM and caregivers of children with a current/previous diagnosis of SM to participate in a research study. We want to learn more about the impact of having selective mutism on children, adolescents, and adults over the long term.
Participation Requirements:
• If you are a parent of a child between the ages of 3-7 who currently has SM or who has had SM in the past. You will complete forms regarding your child and yourself.
• If you are a parent of a child between the ages of 8-17 who currently has SM or who has had SM in the past. There will be forms for you to complete about yourself and your child, and there will be additional forms for your child to complete.
• If you are an adult (ages 18+) who currently has SM or has had SM in the past. You will complete forms about yourself.
Benefits:
• Your data will be used to better inform treatment for individuals with selective mutism.
• You will be compensated with a $20 gift card for your time.
It will take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete the surveys.
