Becoming a member of the Selective Mutism Association means joining one of the largest, most comprehensive charitable organizations in the world that is 100% dedicated to selective mutism. Without our community of members, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do. Anyone can use our website to access SM resources, but to show our appreciation for SMA members, we offer the following special membership benefits: 

Families & Individuals

The Individual/Family Membership offers access to more SMA resources, including our SMA parent support group and Ask the Expert series that connects you directly with experts on child anxiety disorders, clinical psychology, speech pathology, and more.

Treating Professionals

Our membership offers treating professionals the opportunity to learn and discuss cases with experts in the field of selective mutism and co-occurring disorders, keep up with research, network with other treating professionals, and more.

Educators


This membership is for educators, including school administrators, counselors, teachers, and speech and language pathologists, who are interested in learning more about selective mutism and bringing support and resources to their school.

Students & Trainees

Available to students pursuing programs to become treating professionals, this discounted membership offers the same benefits as Family/Individual members and includes access to our Treating Professional listserv.
